Case Study: Get Wearable
Virtual Assistants, Payments, Text to Speech messages, Notifications, Biometrics Tracker. All at a finger’s notice.
The World is on Your Wrist
One day, two twins came knocking at our studio’s door.
They had a great idea in mind and a prototype in hand.
That was two years ago, and that’s when Get was born.
From A to G
Get is definitely the most complete project Adoratorio has ever worked on, starting from scratch with the Brand Identity definition (logo, naming, iconography and so much more), then proceeding with the first layout for the Website, Social Media content, 3D product design and prototyping for the actual bracelet, While also writing the script and directing the photo/video shooting for the Kickstarter campaign.
A Brand new Wearable Experience
Get is a hi-tech bracelet that allows to you make payments, listen to audio and text messages, and answer phone calls — while also tracking your physical activity and biometrics.
Get interacts with its user through Bone Conduction technology and is commanded via motion recognition.
Get is already employed in Museums such as Maxxi in Rome as an audio guide, experimented as a way to foresee cardiac conditions but also as a mean of communication for fast interactions for the consumer market and various industries (voice to text messages, artificial intelligence and much more).
Techies Lounge
The 3D production was incredibly extensive on the project, as it was a must to show how the final product, after all the prototyping rounds, would’ve looked like.
The models we created comprehend the final look & feel of both the bracelet and its charging dock, the inner components but also the various covers the product supports and the broad production of teaser and explainer 3D videos.
To achieve this, we used multiple software depending on the specific need, from Cinema4D to 3D Studio Max and Adobe After Effects.
Focusing on the Website, it doesn’t employ any back-end platform given its purely informative purpose and therefore the limited need for updates.
The technologies we employed in the development process were HTML5, Vue.js, CSS3 and ES6 Javascript, with some sprinkles of GLSL for the WebGL Pulse.
The objective?
Being the tasks so extensive, the project was divided into phases.
The initial objective was to define a unique, recognizable Brand and Product Identity for a wearable tech characterized by multiple, often fundamentally different features.
The second objective was the definition of an effective approach to both existing (few) and future (potentially countless) users for both Social Medias and the Kickstarter campaign.
The last phase, which happened together with the Kickstarter launch, was both to coordinate the work of multiple actors that participated and provide the most conversions from both the Institutional Website and Social Media.
The results?
A Brand Bible comprehensive of multiple unique terms to define this new technology, Smartbridge upfront, together with a complete set of icons (almost 100 for current and future implementations) and a signature graphic element, which we now call “The Wave”.
The definition of multiple personas and the categorization of Get’s capabilities under different banners.
The effective coordination of multiple players and the successful Kickstarter campaign which, without taking into account private injections of capital, raised more than 100.000 $.
More than 5500 users were directly conveyed from getwearable.com, while another 10.000 from Instagram activities alone!
The Team
Adoratorio Studio is an Italian Digital Agency specialized in all things creative, friends of Pixels and Paper, drinking partners of Logos and Models (the 3D ones. We’re all top models in our own right).
Founded in 2014, Adoratorio has worked with brands such as Netflix, Lufthansa, Taschen, The FWA and Awwwards.
With its skillful team of young chimpanzees, Adoratorio’s people dedicate at least 1 hour a day (2 on the weekends) smashing random keys on their keyboards trying to achieve the perfect project.
So far nothing came of it, but mama raised no quitters.
